Thumb Spree was founded in 2009 to provide extensive coverage on the iPhone gaming world. iGamers can keep up with news, reviews and editorial content contained within to make smart, informed App Store purchases. We believe that the iPhone is a legitimate gaming platform, and we challenge developers to treat it as such.Editorial Policy
Thumb Spree does not solicit or accept payment for reviews. Ratings are solely based on the merits of a particular game. Developer advertising shall have absolutely no impact on the site's editorial content.
Thumb Spree is so Gung ho about this policy that it belongs to OATS, the Organization of App Testing Standards. Check out the OATS Oath here.

Thumb Spree believes that game reviews are inherently subjective and thus employs a qualitative ratings scale.

A buy rating denotes a game worthy of purchase. The reviewer has found the game to be a value for its cost, regardless of genre or size. Games with this rating generally serve to further legitimize the iPhone as a gaming platform.

A rating affixed with a blue ribbon comes highly recommended by the Thumb Spree staff. Leading innovation on the device, the ribbon can also signify outstanding game design, art direction and extreme addictiveness. In other words, you'd have to be silly to pass up on one of these stand-out titles.
